BCI Full Form in Law

The BCI Full Form in law is Bar Council of India. In order to oversee and represent the Indian Bar, Parliament established the Bar Council of India as a statutory organization. By establishing guidelines for professional behavior and manners and by having disciplinary authority over the Bar, we carry out the regulatory role. Additionally, we establish criteria for legal education and recognize universities whose legal degrees will be required to become advocates.

Objective of BCI:

The main objectives of the Bar Council of India are to establish guidelines for advocates’ proper behavior and demeanor. It also establishes the process that its disciplinary committee and the disciplinary committees of each State Bar Council must adhere to. It also protects the advocates interests, rights, and privileges and helps to promote, support and enhance the law reforms. The BCI also helps to deal with and dispose of any matter that may be referred to it by the State Bar Council.

Role and responsibilities of BCI:

The BCI is in charge of overseeing and defending India’s legal profession. Setting standards for legal education, establishing guidelines for advocates’ professional behavior and etiquette, and allowing law graduates to work in Indian courts by issuing those licenses are some of its main responsibilities. It regulates the legal profession and sets the standard of legal education.
